Adaptive to conditions
The S-Max is fitted with an Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system for enhanced handling and increased efficiency. It can cleverly work out how much balance and responsiveness is needed in tough conditions – when it’s wet and icy, for example – or when the terrain changes. The AWD does this by distributing drive to the front or back axle as and when it’s needed.
Long journeys can take their toll on the body, so support and comfort should be priorities as far as car seats are concerned. The S-Max is fitted with fully-adjustable multi-contour seats for the driver and front passenger, designed to provide sturdy back and leg support when you need it most. For that extra bit of luxury they can also give you a massage.
Performance and economy
There are two EcoBoost engine options with the S-Max. The innovative range combines direct fuel injection with turbo-charging, offering exceptional power and efficiency.
Offering 160PS of power, the new 1.5L EcoBoost engine has been optimised and downsized from the previous 1.6L EcoBoost for even better fuel economy. For extra power there’s the 2.0 litre EcoBoost, offering 240PS power.
At first glance the S-Max looks like your standard family MPV, but there’s a lot more to it than that. With an array of sporty touches, exceptional handling and impressive fuel economy, you’ll want the S-Max for more than just the morning school run.
With the easily-adjustable rear seats there’s plenty of space in back for luggage or equipment if needed, while the AWD system makes it easy to navigate all kinds of treacherous terrain – making it the perfect car for an adventurous getaway.
The efficiency of the EcoBoost engine also makes it a cost-efficient option as far as fuel consumption is concerned.
